Prime Big Deal Days 2026 (Oct 6–7): Dates, Data and a Seller Prep Plan

Prime Big Deal Days 2026 (Oct 6–7): Dates, Data and a Seller Prep Plan

Amazon has confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days, its October sale for Prime members, runs on October 6–7, 2026. That leaves sellers about a week to lock in pricing, ads and stock, and one week later, on October 15, Amazon's holiday peak fulfillment fees begin. Here is what is confirmed, what last year's event tells us, and a short prep plan.

What Amazon announced

  • Dates and length. According to Amazon's announcement, the event starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 and offers "48 hours of Prime member-exclusive deals across more than 35 categories." NBC News (Sept 23, 2026) reported the same dates and said some early deals are already live.
  • Deal drops. Amazon says new "Today's Big Deals" go live three times a day, at midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PDT.
  • 22 countries. The event runs in 22 countries including the US, Canada, the UK, Japan and Australia; Amazon notes that dates may vary by country.
  • Alexa for Shopping. Amazon highlights deal alerts, price tracking and automatic purchase at a target price, so shoppers can be notified when your deal goes live.

What last year's event tells us

Adobe reported that US consumers spent $9.1 billion online across all retailers during the 2025 event (October 7–8), up 7.3% year over year, with discounts peaking at 18% off list price. Numerator's early read (Oct 9, 2025) found an average order of $45.42, with 44% of orders at $20 or less and 90% under $100. Everyday categories led:

Shoppers could buy in several categories, so shares add up to more than 100%.

Numerator also reported that 23% of shoppers bought holiday gifts during the event and 56% compared prices with other retailers.

Supply Chain Dive (Jul 13, 2026) reported that peak fees add an average of $0.32 per unit, the same as last year, with the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge applied on top. Check exact dates and amounts in Seller Central, since they are Amazon's to change.

What it means for sellers (our analysis)

  • Low-price, repeat-purchase items win. With 44% of orders under $20, consumables, accessories and add-on items are where Prime members stock up. Higher-ticket products need a very clear discount to stand out.
  • Price comparison is the norm. More than half of shoppers compared prices elsewhere. A deal that is not the lowest price across channels may convert poorly.
  • October sales ship at off-peak fees. Orders fulfilled before October 15 avoid the peak fee, which slightly improves event margins compared with November.
  • Stock that sells now is not there in November. Plan inventory so a strong event does not leave you out of stock before Black Friday.

Checklist for the next 7 days

  1. Confirm your deals. Deal submission for this event has closed, but you can still set Prime Exclusive Discounts or coupons where eligible. Check your promotions dashboard for status.
  2. Check price floors. Make sure your deal price leaves margin after referral fees, FBA fees and ad costs.
  3. Raise ad budgets in advance. Increase daily budgets and use budget rules for October 6–7 so campaigns don't run out by midday.
  4. Refresh listings. Update main images, titles and A+ content for the gifting season and make sure every variation is in stock.
  5. Watch stock daily. Set restock alerts and plan the next inbound for the Oct 21/28 arrival dates.
  6. Review results by Oct 10. Compare units, ACoS and conversion against a normal week, then adjust for Black Friday.
Tip: Keep a separate campaign for your deal ASINs during the event. It makes it much easier to see what the discount really delivered.
